シャツのデザインまで！

この展覧会の間、思い出した自分の文章。というか、manosをなぜにしているのか？という自分への問い。2004年にserendipityのスペースが出来た時の挨拶の文章。思い出しました。ここに私たちが考えていることが集約されています。
This exhibition reminds me of my writing for greeting of our renovation in 2004.I asked myself.”Why do u keep carring on things like this? “Here is just my writing in 2004. This was summarized our concept.　Of course it’s still being very much with us today.

「今年の６月で８年目を迎えます。（当時2004年）「これが好き」、「あれがあったらいいな」という単純な気持ちが始まりで現在に至ります。全く個人的な考えですが、普段の暮らしの中で、自分達が囲まれるものに沢山のものは必要ないと思います。一生の中で出会うものも、人も限りがあるから、だとしたら、本当に良いもの、好きなものに出会いたいと思います。既成の価値によるものでなく、個々の価値観で、それぞれが好きなものを拾いあげ、生活を、人生を創っていけたらと思うのです。そして、それぞれの生活のパーツひとつひとつが、そんな風に意識されることで、より楽しみに溢れたものになるはずだと考えます。MANOSで紹介する事柄はそういう私たちの目線で集められたものです。」

We have assembled things we’re actually inspired by since we launched our store MANOS in 1996. We don’t think we need many things around us in our real life.Maybe,there is a limit to what we can encounter in life.　if it’s true, we really want to encounter genuine things, people as well.That’s why we keep carring our selection which is inspiration-based, not pressured by commercial demands, not driven by trends.We believe every day for every person can be more joyful,fresh and beautiful through creating one’s own lifestyle.

この気持ちは、まぎれもなく私の変わることのない原点。原動力。そして、これからも。
that's my original motive. now and forever...

展覧会初日には猿山さんも東京から来て頂きました。不思議なご縁というか、グラフィックデザイナーとしても活躍される猿山さんご用達の活版印刷やさんは、manosでも音楽演奏してもらったことあるホリベさん家の印刷屋さんでしたw　世界ってホント狭いですね！

Saruyama san came over to manos on the first day from Tokyo!　 He as graphic designer knows horibe san AKA ”stabilo”) very well who performed at manos before and also carry ”letterpress printing shop”called “meishi 5funkan “accidentally.. so, they’ve been buisiness associates for a long time…　It's a small world Indeed!
